THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke puts the finishing touches on its regular season slate versus NEWMAC foe Springfield College Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Turf Field. In 22 previous encounters with the Pride, the Lyons have won four times. Last year, they picked up a dramatic 12-11 double overtime triumph at Springfield during the regular season before falling 17-10 in the NEWMAC Semifinals.

MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (5-8, 2-3 NEWMAC) has dropped two straight contests after topping Smith College 14-9 on April 12. Liz Randolph has made an immediate impact on the program, racking up team highs of 27 goals and eight assists. Over her first 13 collegiate games, the attacker has poured in five hat tricks. She has received help up front by midfielder Hilary Bombard and attacker Alex Crean, who have amassed 19 and 13, goals, respectively. Midfielder Vika Planson has chipped in with 11 goals and four assists. On the defensive end, Bianca Young has collected 26 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Jamie Theophilos and Melissa Saale have split time between the pipes for the Lyons, totaling 102 saves.

Opponent Logo THE PRIDE: Springfield (9-5, 5-0 NEWMAC) has sprinted to a perfect 5-0 mark in league play behind a high-powered offensive attack. The Pride have been paced by attacker Meagan Dobson, who has piled up 58 points on 22 goals and 36 assists. Midfielder Jackie Moscardelli has amassed 38 goals and 12 assists, while attacker Allie Davis has scored 30 times. Springfield has also received solid production from midfielder Nicole Soucie, who has recorded 24 goals and six assists. Anne Versprille has played all 850 minutes between the pipes for the Pride. She owns a goals against average of 9.46 and a save percentage of .446.  As a team, Springfield has outscored its opponents 173-109.   

NEXT UP: Springfield has clinched the top seed in next week's NEWMAC Tournament and will host both semifinal games, as well as the championship. Mount Holyoke's postseason fate will be determined by the results of this contest and the other two league games between Wellesley College and Babson College and MIT and Wheaton College.
