SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Apr. 5, 2011) - First year midfielder Naomi Miller has earned the Lyon of the Week award for the week of March 28 - April 3 after piling up a career best four goals in the lacrosse team's 15-12 triumph over MIT on Saturday. With their first NEWMAC win of the year, the Lyons halted a three game slide and improved to 4-5 on the year. It was their first victory over MIT since the 2003 season. The Engineers had come out on top in each of the previous eight meetings between the programs.

Mount Holyoke trailed 10-8 with just over 20 minutes remaining in regulation before Miller struck for back-to-back goals over a span of 11 seconds to knot things up. With momentum on their side, the Lyons tacked on three more unanswered goals to put things away. Senior midfielder Vika Planson provided the exclamation point with 11:49 remaining in regulation, when she scored off a nifty feed from Miller to complete her first career hat trick.

Earlier in the week, Miller chipped in with an assist in the her team's 17-11 setback against Eastern Connecticut State University. In the two games, she totaled four goals, two assists and five draw controls.

Miller has accounted for five goals, three assists, seven draw controls, two caused turnovers and six ground balls over the first nine contests of her collegiate career.

Mount Holyoke (4-5, 1-1 NEWMAC) will put the finishing touches on a three game homestand next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Wheaton College.
