SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (March 22, 2011) - Junior Hilary Bombard has earned the Lyon of the Week award for the week of March 14-20 after leading the lacrosse team to a perfect 2-0 mark during their spring break trip in Maryland. The attacker racked up five goals and two assists in wins over the University of New England and Concordia University. Bombard was also named NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the same time period.

She was her best on Wednesday, when she scored a free position goal with three seconds remaining in regulation to boost the Lyons to a thrilling 11-10 triumph over New England. She finished the game with a career best five points on three goals and two assists. It was her first half trick of the year and sixth of her career. The captain found the back twice in a 14-0 victory over Concordia one day earlier. Both games took place at McDaniel College.

Over the first two weeks of the season, Bombard has amassed 10 points on eight goals and a pair of assists. She has also chipped in with seven draw controls, seven ground balls and a caused turnover. The attacker has recorded two goals or more in three of her team's first five contests.

For her career, Bombard has registered 71 points on 53 goals and 18 assists. Her dramatic strike against New England was her fourth career game winning goal.

Mount Holyoke (3-2, 0-0 NEWMAC) will kick off its home slate versus Bridgewater State University on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Lyons will enter the contest riding a three game winning streak.
