Field Hockey Earns National Academic Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (March 10, 2011) – The Mount Holyoke College field hockey team was recently recognized by the NFHCA for achieving a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester. In addition, 10 individual members of the team were named to the 2010 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

Individual recipients were Siobhan Anderson, Kiki Boyles, Annie Butts, Melissa Hartley, Taylor Hedges, Emily McClintock, Stephanie Slysz, Meredith Spencer-Blaetz, Maddy Starbranch and Kirsti Wiemokly.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes were required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2010 academic year. Spencer-Blaetz was honored in all four of her seasons in a Mount Holyoke uniform.
