Babson (9-3, 5-0 NEWMAC) grabbed a 1-0 edge just over 11 minutes into the contest, when first year Morgan Lockwood collected a feed from classmate Alex Cabreros and fired a shot past junior goalkeeper Katie Gibson from the middle of the circle. The forward is among the national leaders in goals scored with 17.

Refusing to go away, Mount Holyoke responded with the equalizer at the 49:51 mark. First year forward Stephanie Slysz was credited with her third tally of the year after her shot from the left side deflected off the stick of a Babson defender and trickled over the goal line. It was her second goal in as many matches.

The Beavers nearly regained the lead on a penalty corner set in the 59th minute, but senior defender Meredith Spencer-Blaetz came up with a defensive save on blast my senior midfielder Colleen Kelly.

Weaving then found the back of the cage for what proved to be the winner at the 62:44 mark, when she collected a feed from senior forward Sarah Fredlund and rifled a shot past Gibson from the right side. It was her third winner of the season.

The Lyons fell despite a 8-7 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Of those chances, seven came in the first half. Junior goalkeeper Jessica Pashos came up with six saves for the hosts, while Gibson had six for Mount Holyoke. Both squads registered 10 shots.

Mount Holyoke (5-5, 1-3 NEWMAC) will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts non-conference foe Castleton State College at 5:00 p.m.
