Golf Opens Spring Slate at Vassar Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Mount Holyoke College golf team opened its spring slate on Saturday amidst rainy conditions at the Casperkill Country Club. Through the opening round of action, the Lyons sit 10th overall with a round score of 349. Williams College currently leads the event with a combined score of 301.

Junior Stephanie Spitzer paces the Lyons efforts on day one, recording a score of 80. She is locked in a tie for 17th overall. First year Cortney Qiu and Susan Lee each posted an 86 to open the event, both are sitting in a tie for 33rd overall.

Rounding out the action is sophomore Lahela Delaney, who is tied for 56th overall with a score of 97.

SUNY Cortland's Danielle Bambola leads the field, shooting one under par with a 71 on the day.

Final Round action at this year's Vassar Invite continues on Sunday at 8:30am.
