Golf Concludes Fall Season Taking Fourth at NYU Invite

BLOOMINGTON, N.J. - Action at the 2018 NYU Fall Invitational has concluded and the Mount Holyoke College golf team finished fourth overall in the field of seven teams. The event, which took place at the Forest Hill Field Club, saw the Lyons post a combined 685. Williams College battled back on day two to win this year's event with a combined 619.

Pacing the effort was rookie Cortney Qiu as she finished in a tie for 17th after posting a combined 166. After shooting an 86 on day one, she bettered her score by six strokes for an 80 in the final round. Junior Susan Lee finished in 19th overall, ralllying from an 89 on day one to shoot 78 on Sunday and finish with a combined 167.

Junior Stephanie Spitzer took 25th at the event, rebounding from a 91 on day one to post an 83 on day two. She finished with a combined 174 on the weekend. Classmate Elizabeth Andrian concluded action just two places behind, finishing 27th overall with a combined 178 after posting 86 on day one and 92 on Sunday.

Rounding out the action for the Lyons was sophomore Lahela Delaney who was 37th overall on the weekend after recording a combined 188, including a 95 on day one and 93 on day two.

Williams rallied on day two with a combined 306 to overtake first and finish with a total score of 619 on the weekend. The host Violets of NYU were second with a combined 630, followed by Amherst (648), MHC and Union (718). Individually, Williams' Cordelia Chan and teammate Joanna Kim tied for medalist honors as both shot a 154 on the weekend.

The Lyons have now concluded the fall season and return to action in April at the Vassar Invitational.
