Golf Currently 4th After Day One of NYU Fall Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, N.J. - Day one of action is in the books at the 2018 NYU Invitational and through the opening 18 holes, the Mount Holyoke College golf team is fourth in the field of seven teams. The event, which is taking place at the Forest Hill Field Club, saw the Lyons post a combined 352. The host Violets lead the event with a combined 305.

Pacing the effort on day one for the Lyons was rookie Cortney Qiu and junior Elizabeth Andrian. Both recorded a score of 86 in the opening round and are tied for 19th overall heading into day two. Junior Susan Lee is just three strokes behind the pair, having notched an 89 on day one. She is currently tied for 24th.

Junior Stephanie Spitzer is currently in a tie for 30th following day one after posting a 91, while sophomore Lahela Delaney is 36th overall with a score of 95.

Currently second behind NYU is Williams College, who recorded a 313 on day one. Amherst is third overall with a score of 330, followed by MHC (352) and Union (359) in fifth.

Individually, NYU's Jennifer Bluetling leads the individuals with a 73. Teammate Jessica Wu is close behind in second with a 75 in the first round.

Final Round action at the NYU Fall Invite begins on Sunday at 8:30am.
