2018-19 Golf Year In Review

Under the direction of eighth-year head coach Tim Walko, the Mount Holyoke golf team had a solid effort during the 2018-19 season, including six top-10 finishes.

The season began at Wellesley's Nehoiden Golf Course for the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational in September as rookie Cortney Qiu led the way with a combined score of 158 to help MHC to a fifth place finish. The Lyons then hosted the MHC Invitational at the Orchards, garnering an eighth-place finish. Qiu once again emerged as the Lyons' top performer, finishing with a combined score of 158 – good for 14th overall.

Junior Susan Lee then paced the effort at the Williams Fall Invitational as MHC took 11th overall. Lee boasted a combined 178 at the event – good for 48th. She followed that up with a 24th-place finish at the Middlebury College Invitational, combining for a score of 170. Overall, the Lyons were sixth at that event.

To close out the fall slate, Mount Holyoke finished fourth at the NYU Fall Invitational led by Qiu, who finished tied for 17th overall with a score of 166.

Mount Holyoke kicked off the spring season at the Vassar Invitational, earning eighth overall. Junior Stephanie Spitzer paced the effort, earning 17th overall with a combined score of 159. Qiu then notched the top effort at the Jack Leaman Championship, finishing 31st with a combined 168 as the Lyons closed out the season in eighth.
