THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke kicks off a three-match homestand versus Clark University Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Turf Field. With just over a week remaining in the regular season, both squads are still jockeying for position in the NEWMAC standings. Forward Stephanie Slysz scored in overtime to lift the Lyons to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Clark last fall. It was their fifth straight win over the Cougars. Match Program

2011 Field Hockey Senior Day

SENIOR DAY: Prior to the contest, a senior day celebration will take place to honor Taylor Hedges, Jess Fajardo, Tricia Chase, Kirsti Wiemokly, Annie Butts, Kiki Boyles, Liz Holsing, Shara Robertson and Katie Gibson. MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (9-4, 4-2 NEWMAC) has used a balanced attack to outscore its opponents 60-18 thus far this season. Forward Shara Robertson has set the tone with 42 points on 15 goals and 12 assists. The Lyons have also received a boost from midfielder Kirsten Kilburn, who has racked up 11 goals and eight assists. Forward Jess Fajardo has scored 12 times, while midfielder Aurora Rougeau has dished out eight assists. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Katie Gibson has posted a goals against average of 1.37 and a save percentage of .806. She has received some help from Tricia Chase, who has racked up six defensive saves. 

Opponent Logo THE COUGARS: Clark (8-4, 2-3 NEWMAC) has dropped three of its last four matches after beginning the season with an overall record of 7-1. The Cougars have been paced by Mel Melkonian, who leads the NEWMAC with 49 points and 23 goals. The forward has collected five hat tricks this fall. Fellow frontliner Madeline Lutts has recorded nine goals and four assists, while defender Erin Murphy has scored four times. Clark has also received  a boost from midfielder Talia Fish, who has added three goals. Kate McGrath has played all 864 minutes between the pipes for the Cougars. She owns a goals against average of 1.86 and has posted three shutouts. 

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will return to action on Tuesday, when it hosts Westfield State University for a non-conference clash beginning at 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Clark will resume its league slate at home against Wheaton College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
