THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke entertains non-conference foe Western New England University tomorrow evening (7:00 p.m.) at the Turf Field. In 24 previous meetings between the programs, the Lyons own a 17-6 advantage. Last fall, they picked up their fourth straight triumph over the Golden Bears, winning by a score of 1-0. MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (3-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) has exploded out of the gate, winning three of its first four matches. The Lyons have outscored their opponents 24-4 over the first two weeks of the season. They topped longtime rival Smith College 9-0 in their most recent outing on Saturday. Forward Shara Robertson recorded her eighth career hat trick in the contest. She leads Mount Holyoke with 15 points on six goals and three assists this fall. Robertson has received help up front from Jess Fajardo, who has also found the back of the cage six times. Newcomer Kirsten Kilburn has chipped in with three goals and four assists. A total of ten Lyons have posted points. Goalkeeper Katie Gibson has continued right where she left off. In 279 minutes played, the senior has recorded a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .857.

Opponent Logo THE GOLDEN BEARS: Western New England (2-4, 1-0 TCCC) has picked up consecutive wins over WPI (2-1) and Salve Regina University (3-2) after dropping its first four matches of the season. The Golden Bears have been paced by midfielder Jaynie Mueller, who has recorded four goals. Forward Caitlin Foster has scored three times, while midfielder Lindsay Lalonde has found the back of the cage twice. Western New England has also received solid production from midfielder Sarah Race, who has accounted for a goal and two assists. On the other end, Kathleen Jasinski has piled up six defensive saves. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hall has turned away 48 shots en route to a goals against average of 4.23. 

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will resume its NEWMAC slate on Saturday, when it hosts Wellesley College at 1:00 p.m. Western New England is set to entertain Clark University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
