THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke will look to extend its win streak to four, when it hosts nationally ranked Amherst College Wednesday evening (7:00 p.m.) at the Turf Field. In 33 previous meetings between the programs, the Lord Jeffs own a 27-5 advantage. They edged the Lyons 1-0 last fall behind Katie McMahon's goal in the 50th minute. MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (5-1, 2-0 NEWMAC) has exploded out of the gate, thanks in large part to the outstanding play of forward Shara Robertson. The senior was named NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Lyons to their third straight win over the weekend. She recorded her 50th career goal against Western New England University on Tuesday before dishing out a career best three assists against Wellesley College on Saturday. Robertson leads Mount Holyoke with nine goals and six assists thus far this season. Fellow forward Jess Fajardo has scored seven times, while midfielder Kirsten Kilburn has added five goals and five assists. Goalkeeper Katie Gibson has turned away 39 shots on her way to a goals against average of 1.17. 

Opponent Logo THE LORD JEFFS: Amherst (4-1, 3-1 NESCAC) fell 2-1 at Hamilton College on Saturday after winning its first four matches of the season. The Lord Jeffs have defeated Trinity College (1-0), Bates College (7-1), Middlebury College (3-1) and Springfield College (5-0). They have been paced by forward Krista Zsitvay, who has recorded six goals and two assists. Fellow frontliner Katie McMahon has found the back of the cage five times. Meanwhile, midfiielders Ellie Anderson and Madeline Tank have chipped in with five points apiece. Rachel Tannenbaum has been Amherst's featured goalkeeper. In 341 minutes played, she has made 31 saves en route to a goal against average of 0.61. 

NEXT UP: Both squads are slated to resume their conference schedules on Saturday. Mount Holyoke will travel to Wheaton College for a NEWMAC showdown beginning at 1:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Amherst will entertain NESCAC rival Tufts University at noon.
