GENEVA, N.Y. -- Missing two players in the lineup with injury, the shorthanded Mount Holyoke College squash team ceded two points to both Hamilton College and William Smith College in a pair of losses Saturday at William Smith, 8-1 against Hamilton and 9-0 against the host Herons.
First-year Habiba Abouelatta (Alexandria, Egypt) scored the only point for the Lyons (3-10), coming back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to defeat Hamilton's No. 1 player, Eliana Good, in five games (7-11, 11-9, 4-11, 11-4, 12-10). Other Lyons up and down the lineup played competitive matches on the day, including senior Keying Lin (Fujian, China), senior captain Dnyaneshwari Haware (Mumbai, India), sophomore Paige Gershuny (Cape Girardeau, Mo.), and first-year Tina Mei (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
Mount Holyoke returns home next Saturday, Jan. 28, to face Bard College starting at 2pm.
