LEWISTON, Maine -- Junior Xaria Durocher led Mount Holyoke College standouts with a strong effort at the No. 2 position in the squash team's 9-0 loss at Bates College on Tuesday.

Playing against Bates' Aasya Patel in the No. 2 position on the ladder for Mount Holyoke (3-6), Durocher (Boston, Mass.) won the first game 11-8 before falling in four games. The Bobcats swept the Lyons in straight games at the remaining eight positions, but head coach Erin Robson cited two other players for their efforts Tuesday in first-year Ku Paw (Hartford, Conn.) at No. 3 and sophomore Paige Gershuny (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) at No. 7.

"Xaria played really great squash in game 1 and got back going in the third game," said Robson. "Ku is also playing good squash in places and is improving with every match. And it was a a great effort and performance from Paige."

Mount Holyoke plays two matches on Wednesday in Maine: at Bowdoin at 12pm and at Colby at 6pm.
