ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team rose to 3-0 Saturday with a pair of convincing wins played at Bard College, as the Lyons defeated Bard 9-0 and Wellesley 8-1.

Junior Xaria Durocher (Boston, Mass.) had a terrific day at the No. 1 position for the Lyons, defeating Bard's No. 1 player Pam Jaramillo in three games (11-6, 11-5, 11-2) before coming back from two games down to defeat Wellesley's No. 1 player, Miraya Gupta, 3-2 (7-11, 11-13, 11-4, 11-3, 11-9).

First-year Tina Mei (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also went 2-0 on the day from the No. 2 position for Mount Holyoke, coming back to defeat Bard's Jacinta Creel 3-1 (9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-1) and then dominating Wellesley's Zhirou Lian 3-0 (11-5, 11-3, 11-0).

Mount Holyoke scored two points by default against Wellesley and by three against Bard. All other contested matches in the Lyons' matches against both Bard and Wellesley resulted in a 3-0 sweep. At No. 3 on the ladder, first-year Ku Paw (Hartford, Conn.) won all six games on the day, as did senior captain Elba Barra Montgomery (Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania) at four, senior captain Dnyaneshwari Haware (Mumbai, India) at five, and sophomore Paige Gershuny (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) at six.

Mount Holyoke will host Georgetown University in its home opener on Sunday at the MHC Squash Courts, beginning at 11am.
