Under the direction of 18th year head coach Aldo Santiago, the Mount Holyoke tennis team qualified for the NEWMAC Tournament for the seventh straight season. The Lyons suffered a 5-1 setback to Babson College in the Quarterfinal Round. They closed out their 2010-11 campaign with an overall record of 9-11 and a league mark of 3-4.

Elise Marifian After cruising to victories over Smith College (7-2) and Clark University (9-0), Mount Holyoke edged Springfield College (5-4) to clinch a postseason berth. The Lyons were paced by senior Elise Marifian and first year Maya Sayarath, who were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team after sprinting to a 5-1 mark at number three doubles during the fall. They were named NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week on October 18 after edging Springfield 9-7.

Mount Holyoke wrapped up its season with 10 matches in the spring. After pounding American International College (9-0) and RPI (8-1), the Lyons clinched third place at the Seven Sisters Championship with 5-0 triumphs over Bryn Mawr College and Smith. They then closed out their year with consecutive victories over Union College (9-0) and Roger Williams University (8-1).

Over the course of the season, Sayarath piled up 14 singles victories. Marifian collected eight, while junior Heather Richardson and sophomore Nahrhee Han added six apiece.

Marifian and Sayarath closed out the year with six doubles wins. Of those, five came at the number three slot. Senior Natalie Hsiang figured in on nine doubles victories. Her partners included Han and junior Sarah Moore.
