ITA All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Sept. 7, 2011) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced its All-Academic Teams as well as its Scholar Athletes for the 2010-11 season. Eight members of the Mount Holyoke College women's tennis squad were named Scholar Athletes. In addition, the program picked up All-Academic Team accolades.
Mount Holyoke's eight Scholar Athletes were first year Kelsey Brower, senior Natalie Hsiang, first year AnnElizabeth Konkel, senior Elise Marifian, junior Sarah Moore, first year Saloni Pandey, sophomore Carly Peltier and first year Maya Sayarath.
In order to earn Scholar Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter recipient, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at her institution for at least two semesters. To qualify as All-Academic Teams, a program must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.
