Boston, Mass. - September 28, 2019 - The Mount Holyoke College cross country team competed at the Codfish Bowl on Saturday afternoon, hosted at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Out of the five teams competing, the Lyons were third with 42 points.

Using the day as a workout on the same course that is the host site for the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic (NEWMAC) Championships later this fall, Mount Holyoke College, which was the No. 8 ranked team in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, was led by the tandem of Hannah Rieders (Wellesley, Mass.), Madeline Rieders (Wellesley, Mass.) and Lauren Selkin (Greenwich, Conn.). The three student-athletes all finished in the top six, as Hannah Rieders took third with a time of 20:05, Madeline Rieders clocked in at 20:05 to finish fourth and Selkin was sixth, producing a mark of 20:12.

Next for the Lyons was Sydney Nash (New Hartford, Conn.), as the sophomore crossed the finish line in 21:22, just ahead of first-year Olivia Griesmer (Austin, Texas), who finished the course in 21:24. Katie Milligan (Scituate, Mass.) produced a time of 22:18, as she was followed by Sarah Hyde (Arlington, Mass.), who notched a time of 22:19, followed by Emma Raney (Palo Alto, Calif.), who crossed in 22:23. 

Junior Meryl Phair (Stockbridge, Mass.) produced a time of 22:30, as she was followed by Sophia Gronbeck (Westfield, Mass.), who finished in 22:34. Next was Kayla Dillon (Great Barrington, Mass.) with a time of 22:44, Devan Ravino (West Kingston, R.I.) with a time of 22:48 and Amanda Kearney (Teaneck, N.J.) with a time of 22:55.

The next pack to finish for Mount Holyoke College was Sophia Anderson (Morrisville, Vt.), who turned in a time of 23:41, Charlotte Lindblom (Takoma Park, Md.), who crossed in 23:42 and Natalie Rodman (Upton, Mass.) who produced a time of 23:43. Following that group was Michelle Serrano (Los Angeles, Calif.), who finished the race in 24:20, Sammi Craig (Austin, Texas) who was at 24:26, Marlena Klein (South Windsor, Conn.) who was at 24:34 and Eliza Butler (Scarsdale, N.Y.) who was at 25:11.

Voting after the race, the Mount Holyoke College cross country team named Lindblom the "Kick of the Week", Kearney as the "Runner of the Week" and Milligan as the "Teammate of the Week". 

Up next, Mount Holyoke College will have student-athletes compete at both the NEICAAA Championships in Franklin Park and the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State on Saturday, October 12.
