Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at Division III New England Championships

Middlebury, Vt. - February 29, 2020 - The Mount Holyoke College track and field team had student-athletes competing at the 2020 Division III New England Championships, hosted in Middlebury College's Virtue Field House on Saturday. The Lyons finished the weekend 21st overall with seven points.

Kicking off the day, Isabelle Wohlin (Wellesley, Mass.) took 23rd overall in the 60 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 9.82 seconds. Next, Simone Jacob (San Francisco, Calif.) was 15th overall in the mile, clocking in at 5:18.46. Jacob would go on to take 15th in the 1000 meter run as well, crossing in 3:07.94, just ahead of Sydney Nash (New Hartford, Conn.), who was 23rd in the event with a time of 3:12.01.

Wrapping up for the Lyons was the 4x800 relay, where the team of Nash, Emma Raney (Palo Alto, Calif.), Devan Ravino (West Kingston, R.I.) and Jacob took 10th overall with a combined time of 10:11.81.

In the field events, senior Caitlin Lynch (Princeton, Mass.) competed in the high jump and took 14th overall, clearing 1.55 meters.

Student-athletes from Mount Holyoke College will make their final attempts at qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships this upcoming Saturday, March 7 at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet.
