With her toss of 40.34 meters, the senior earned All-ECAC honors and put Mount Holyoke in 42nd place overall with four points.

Nineteen Mount Holyoke student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of track and field, lacrosse an crew.

Larson-Koester Turns in Another Impressive Performance at New England ChampionshipsMay 12, 2012Miriam Larson-Koester turned in yet another impressive performance in the discus this afternoon at the New England Championships. The senior earned All-New England honors with her sixth place toss of 42.06 meters. In the process, she shattered her own school record.

Larson-Koester Earns All-Region Honors at New England Division III ChampionshipsMay 05, 2012Senior Miriam Larson-Koester continued her outstanding spring with another strong performance in the discus at the New England Division III Championships this weekend. As a result of her fifth place toss of 38.47 meters, she earned All-Region honors for the third time in her career.

Larson-Koester Wins Discus at NEWMAC ChampionshipsApril 28, 2012Senior Miriam Larson-Koester continued her outstanding spring with a dominant performance at the NEWMAC Track and Field Championships today. The veteran was at her best in the discus, where she took home top honors with a toss of 40.38 meters. In the process, she established a new meet record and earned First Team All-Conference honors.

Senior Miriam Larson-Koester set the tone with her outstanding results in the throwing events. In addition to taking home first place in the discus (41.62 meters), she also turned in a fifth place performance in the shot put (10.99 meters).

Algama Claims Lyon of the Week HonorsApril 17, 2012First year Meara Algama has earned the Lyon of the Week award for the week of April 9-15 after an impressive performance at the Eastern Connecticut State Invitational on Friday. The rookie took home first place in the javelin with a toss of 30.37 meters.

Outdoor Track and Field Takes Part in Eastern Connecticut InvitationalApril 13, 2012Mount Holyoke took part in the fifth annual Eastern Connecticut Invitational this afternoon along with Trinity and Mahattanville. First year Meara Algama set the tone for the Lyons with her first place toss of 30.37 meters in the javelin. Meanwhile, sophomore Kathleen O’Connor won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:16.99.

Edebeli was at her best in the 200-meter dash, where she grabbed third place with a time of 27.93. She also qualified for New England Division III Championships in both the shot put and the 60-meter dash.

Indoor Track and Field Set to Open 2011-12 SeasonDecember 02, 2011The Mount Holyoke indoor track and field team is slated to kick off its 2011-12 season at the Smith Winter Classic tomorrow. Longtime head coach Tina Lee will once again look to veterans Jacinta Edebeli, Miriam Larson-Koester and Maddie Ballon to lead the way for the Lyons, who are scheduled for nine meets this winter.
