Golf Closes Out 2010-11 Campaign at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (May 1, 2011) – Led by junior Alexandra Irish and senior Sarah Keating, the Mount Holyoke College women's golf team closed out its 2010-11 campaign with a sixth place finish at the Williams College Spring Invitational this weekend. A total of seven teams competed in the two day tournament, which took place at Taconic Golf Club (par 71 – 5827).

Irish and Keating fired matching scores of 167 to set the tone for the Lyons. The duo finished in a deadlock for 14th place. Sophomore Felicitas Gerlach grabbed 27th place (187 – 93, 94), and senior Cassie Reid-Dodick earned 32nd (201 – 99, 102).

Host Williams breezed to the team title with a score of 631. The Ephs were followed in the top three by Vassar College (656) and Middlebury College (658). Mount Holyoke finished with a team score of 722.

Two of the top three individuals came from Williams. Georgiana Salant secured medalist honors with a two day tally of 151 (73, 78). She was followed by Vassar's Alex Bello (154 – 75, 79) and teammate Emily Wickstrom (155 – 75, 80).
