MATCH PROGRAM (PDF) / LIVE STATS

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hits the field on Saturday in a battle of the Lyons as it welcomes NEWMAC-rival, Wheaton. The MHC Lyons and the Wheaton Lyons are meeting for the 23rd time with Wheaton holding a 20-10-2 edge in the all-time series.

MHC Logo THE MOUNT HOLYOKE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (4-3, 1-0 NEWMAC) shouldered a 3-1 loss on the road at Wesleyan on Tuesday night as the Cardinals got a pair of first-half goals to set the tone early. In the second stanza, trailing by three, Mount Holyoke averted a shutout when sophomore Kirsten Kilburn blasted home her seventh goal of the season from just inside the scoring circle on a penalty corner feed from senior Angelica Pascual with 12:23 remaining. Senior Anne O'Byrne finished the game with 11 stops for the Lyons.

Opponent Logo THE WHEATON LYONS: Wheaton (2-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) fell 7-1 against Bridgewater State last Sunday in a rematch of last year's ECAC Tournament first-round game. Wheaton sophomore midfielder Sarah McNicholas recorded her third goal in two games after giving her team a 1-0 lead 3:41 into play, but that proved to be the Lyons' lone score, as Bridgewater State exploded for seven unanswered goals. Wheaton's sophomore goalie Madison Wolters turned in double-digit saves for the third consecutive game, this time turning aside 15 Bear shots.

NEXT UP: Following today's game, Mount Holyoke travels to WPI on Tuesday for a 7pm match against the Engineers. Wheaton is also in action on Tuesday at Springfield at 7pm.
