Golf Currently 7th After Day 1 of Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. - Day one of action at the 2016 Jack Leaman Invitational has concluded and through the first round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits seventh overall in the field which is competing at Hickory Ridge Golf Club. The Lyons posted an opening round score of 360. The homestanding Jeffs lead the event with a score of 317 through the first 18 holes.

Individually, the Lyons are led by junior captain June Conti (Amenia, N.Y./Miss Porter's School), who is tied for fifth with an opening score of 81. Classmate and fellow captain Allison Shilling (New Canaan, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) is close behind, sitting in a tie for seventh in the field with a score of 82.

Junior Heeamin Lee (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline) is 35th after day one with a score of 92, while senior Katie Poulin (Scarborough, Maine/Catherine McAuley) is 49th with a score of 105.

In addition to the leading Jeffs, Williams is second with a score of 326, followed by Middlebury (338), New York University (344) and SUNY Cortland (347).

Action at this year's event concludes tomorrow morning.
