Golf Finishes 7th at NYU Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. - The Mount Holyoke College golf team rebounded on day two, moving up three spots to finish seventh overall at the 2015 NYU Invitational at the Spook Rock Golf Course. The Lyons posted a round score of 338. Combined with Saturday's 354, MHC finished with a weekend score of 692.

Williams, the defending national champions, finished with a score of 614. The host Violets finished just behind with a mark of 621, while Randolph-Macon had a score of 638 to place third. Amherst took the fourth spot with a mark of 642, while Middlebury rounded out the top five with a score of 659.

For the Lyons, junior captain June Conti finished 19th overall with a weekend score of 162. She shot an 84 on day one, but rebounded with a 78 on day two. Junior Heeamin Lee finished 34th on the weekend, shooting a total of 174 with an 88 from the opening round and an 86 in the final.

Junior Amanda Lee posted 39th overall, rebounding from day one's score of 93, for an 84 in the finals. She finished with a total score of 177. Classmate and captain Allison Shilling was 45th overall with a score of 179. She posted a 89 in the First Round and a 90 on day two.

Rounding out the team scoring was junior Vladislava Paskova who finished 62nd with a score of 198. She had a score of 102 on day one and a 96 on day two. Individually, senior Katie Poulin was 63rd with a mark of 200 (99-101).

The Lyons return to the course next weekend, hosting the 2015 MHC Invitational at The Orchards on Saturday and Sunday. More details, including tee times for the opening day, will be available soon.
