Coklow Headed to Third NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

OFFICIAL RELEASE / CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The NCAA has announced the participant field for the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Camille Coklow is among those that qualified in the 60-meter dash.  The championships will be held this Friday and Saturday at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center in Grinnell, Iowa.

Coklow, a senior captain from Chicago, Ill., is one of 17 to participate in the 60-meter dash. Her qualifying time of 7.63 has her in a three-way tie for third overall in Division III. She posted her qualifying time at the ECAC Championships last weekend, where she won the event title for the second straight season and eclipsed her own school record (7.64).

A former standout at the Latin School of Chicago, Coklow has now won the 60-m dash in four of the five meets she has competed this season, including both invitationals at Smith, as well as the Wesleyan Invitational. She placed third in the event at the Division III New England Championships two weeks ago.

This is the third appearance at the Indoor Nationals for Coklow, who earned her first National All-America honor after placing sixth overall at the 2015 NCAA Championships. She also went to the meet as a first year, recording multiple school records as a participant in a number of championship meets. One of her top outings came at the New England Division III Championships, where she finished second overall in the 55-meter dash and garnered All-New England honors.

Coklow, who is the school record holder in the 60-meter dash (7.63) and the 100-meter dash (11.93) in the outdoor records, has also participated at the Outdoor National Championships in back-to-back years (2013, 2014 & 2015).

The 60-meter dash is scheduled for Friday at 3:45pm, while the finals will take place on Saturday at 3:25pm. The top eight competitors earn All-America in each event.
