Swimming & Diving Earns Year-End NEWMAC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2015 Swimming and Diving Coaches of the Year as well as the Sportsmanship Award recipients on Tuesday, following the conclusion of the conference championship meet over the weekend. WPI head coach, Paul Bennett, took home both the Men's and Women's Swimming Coach of the Year awards for the second year in a row. The WPI men finished second at this year's NEWMAC championship while the women placed fourth. Springfield College's Peter Avdoulos swept both Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the Year honors, after Springfield divers captured half the diving titles this weekend at the championship.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy was selected as the Sportsmanship Award recipient on the men's side while Mount Holyoke College was recognized for the Women. The NEWMAC Sportsmanship award is voted on by the league's student-athletes following the conference championship.
