Led by 17th-year head coach Dave Allen, the Mount Holyoke swimming & diving team had an solid run in 2014-15. The Lyons posted a dual meet record of 7-4, finished second at Seven Sisters and were seventh at the NEWMAC Championships.

MHC, which posted victories over the University of Saint Joseph, Westfield State, Western Connecticut State, Clark University, Simmons College, Vassar College and Smith College, repeated as the runner-up at the Seven Sisters Championships, held this year at the MHC Natatorium.

The Lyons were paced by junior Cathleen Pruden, who claimed first in the 200-IM, 400-IM, 200-breast, 1650-free and the 200-free relay. She also recorded meet records in two events, hitting an NCAA 'B' Cut in the 400-IM and the 200-breast. For her efforts, Pruden was named to the All-Tournament Team.

MHC headed into the NEWMAC Championship in fine form following a 165-133 victory over Smith to close out the dual meet schedule. Pruden once again stole the show at NEWMAC's, defending her title in the 400-IM with a meet and open record time of 4:21.83. She also won the 200-IM and the 1650-free titles at the conference meet, finishing as one of just two swimmers – including the only female – to record three individual victories. For her efforts, Pruden was named the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year.

As a team, the Lyons finished seventh overall, backed by a number of strong performances, including sophomore Anne Kuenning, who finished sixth in the 100-back (59.78) and fourth in the 200-back (2:10.31).

Both Pruden and Kuenning were members of various record-breaking relays as well, including the 200-free, which finished fifth with a time of 1:38.77. Sophomores Katie Tyler and Emily Craig completed the relay team.

While the team's season came to a close following NEWMAC's, Pruden's season continued on once again. Powered by her finish in the 400-IM, she earned a second-place ranking in the nation to advance to the 2015 NCAA Championships in Shenandoah, Texas.

Competing in three events at Nationals – all of which she entered ranked in the top-15 in Division III - Pruden opened with a 26th-place finish in the 200-IM, recording a time of 2:06.54. She then tackled her signature event, the 400-IM, the following day. During the morning prelims, Pruden qualified for the event finals with a time of 4:24.96.  

Pruden stepped onto the block for the finals later that evening, finishing eighth overall with a time of 4:25.96. She became the only player in MHC swimming history to finish in the top eight twice, having earned fourth overall in the 400-IM at the 2014 Championships.

The season concluded for Pruden a day later as she closed out her first trip to Nationals with an 18th-place finish in the 1650-free, posting a time of 17:18.91. All told, Pruden notched eight school records during the season, including several in the same events.

Academically, nine student-athletes were named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, while the squad garnered CSCAA Scholar All-American honors and were named the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2014-15 season.
