Rowing Ties for 12th in 2022 USRowing/CRCA Preseason Coaches Poll

South Hadley, Mass. - March 4, 2022 - Following an impressive fall season, the Mount Holyoke College rowing team is tied for No. 12 in the 2022 USRowing/CRCA Division III Preseason Coaches Poll, which was announced last week.

This marks the highest ranking in the USRowing/CRCA Preseason Coaches Poll for Mount Holyoke College since 2012, when the Lyons were selected 10th prior to the season.

"The preseason polling is largely a reflection of our fall success in 2021," commented head Mount Holyoke College rowing coach Seth Hussey. "So while it's a nice accolade, it doesn't change the fact that it's been three years since we've come down a 2K course. There's certainly a lot of hard work and development left in front of us before we find out how fast we really are."

The Lyons had an impressive fall season, which was proven at the Head of the Charles Regatta® when the Mount Holyoke College varsity eight took 18th overall in the race.

Mount Holyoke College will open the 2022 spring season on Saturday, April 9 when they travel to the Donahue Rowing Center in Shrewsbury, Mass. to face off host Clark University, as well as University of Rochester, WPI, Pacific Lutheran, Washington College, Williams, and Connecticut College.
