  • 2012-13 Crew Year In Review

    Under the direction of longtime head coach Jeanne Friedman, the Mount Holyoke crew team had a number of solid efforts during the 2012-13 season. The Lyons saw three individuals named to both the Seven Sisters and the NEWMAC All-Conference Teams, while 24 student-athletes garnered All-Academic recognition from three different organizations.
  • ECAC/NIRC Tabs 13 Lyons for Stewards' All-Academic Honors

    The ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championship Board of Stewards has released its selections for the 2013 Stewards' All-Academic Team and 13 Mount Holyoke College student-athletes have been named. To be honored, student-athletes must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letterwinner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.

  • Crew Concludes Season at ECAC Championships

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team closed out its 2012-13 season at the ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta today. A total of 21 programs from around the region participated in the event on Lake Quinsigamond which saw the Lyons varsity eight boat finish 17th overall.
  • Crew Competes at New England Rowing Championships

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team competed in the New England Rowing Championships today at Lake Quinsigamond. The Lyons finished in 17th place overall with 22.92 points. Mount Holyoke's varsity eight boat took home second place in the Third Level Final of its division. The Lyons posted a time of 7:27.140, which was good for 14th place overall and 12th amongst NCAA Division III competitors.
  • Crew Competes at NEWMAC Championships

    For the third straight year, Wellesley’s Varsity Eight captured the NEWMAC Rowing Championship on Lake Quinsigamond. The Blue edged out second place WPI in collecting their fourth overall crown at the 2013 league championship on Sunday morning. Mount Holyoke finished sixth overall in the varsity eight race, while three Lyons were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Teams.
  • Crew Concludes Solid Weekend in Worcester

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team continued its outstanding effort on the waters of Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, taking on Simmons, Union, Clark, UMass-Lowell and Franklin & Marshall on Sunday. The novice eight boat won its fourth straight race, while the first varsity eight boat finished second behind Simmons.
  • Crew Posts Outstanding Effort Against Clark

    The Mount Holyoke crew team had an outstanding effort on the water at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester on Saturday. The Lyons dominated the action in both races as the first varsity boat and the novice eight boat all claimed victory. It marked the third straight victory for the novice boat, which won twice last weekend at Tufts.
  • Crew Races Strong Against Tufts, Hamilton & Wentworth

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team continued its spring slate on Sunday against Tufts University, Hamilton College and the Wentworth Institute of Technology this morning on the Malden River. Over the course of the day, the Lyons competed in seven races. Pacing the way was the novice eight boats, both of which won their races in fine fashion against Wentworth and the host Jumbos.
  • Crew Battles Past Bryant

    The Mount Holyoke crew team took to the water on Saturday, hosting Bryant College in a race on the Connecticut River. The Lyons had four boats in action at the event and also saw a novice four compete at Amherst. Overall, MHC's top varsity eight boat won with a time of 7:50.2.
  • Crew Opens Spring Campaign at Washington College

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team opened its spring season on Saturday, competing at 14th-ranked Washington College on the Chester River. Fifth-ranked Wellesley also competed at the regatta. The Blue swept all four of the regatta's races on the day.

  • Crew Excels at Seven Sisters Championship

    The Mount Holyoke crew team returned to the Charles River on Saturday, competing in the Seven Sisters Championship, hosted by Simmons College. The Lyons excelled in all facets today, finishing in a tie with the host Sharks for second overall among the five competing teams. Wellesley claimed this year's event title.
  • Crew Competes at Historic Head of the Charles

    The Mount Holyoke College crew team participated in the 48th annual Head of the Charles Regatta today in Boston, Mass. The competition took place on the historic Charles River and featured 55 events over the course of the weekend. Mount Holyoke's first varsity boat grabbed 19th place in the Collegiate Eights Division.
  • Crew Finishes Solid at Quinsigamond Snake Regatta

    The Mount Holyoke crew team took to the water on Saturday, competing at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta, hosted by WPI on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. The Lyons had six boats in action at the event, led by the first varsity eight boat, which was 10th overall.
  • Crew Opens 2012-13 Season at Head of the Riverfront Regatta
    September 30, 2012
    The Mount Holyoke College crew team kicked off its 2012-13 season at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta on Sunday. A total of six boats competed for the Lyons on the Connecticut River in Hartford, Connecticut. The Lyons top varsity eight boat finished just off the pace set by Trinity College in the first college eight division. Its time of 17:43.15 was good for fourth place overall.
