WORCESTER, Mass. (May 12, 2013) - The Mount Holyoke College crew team closed out its 2012-13 season at the ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta today. A total of 21 programs from around the region participated in the event on Lake Quinsigamond.
Mount Holyoke's varsity eight boat finished in 17th place overall. The Lyons started the day with a sixth place showing in their preliminary heat (7:08.630). They then placed fifth in the Third Level Final (7:14.049) of their division, crossing the line in front of Colby College. Smith College (6:58.655) and St. Lawrence University (7:06.416) finished first and second in the Third Final race.
After taking sixth place in its initial heat (7:32.326), Mount Holyoke's second varsity eight boat grabbed third place (8:05.711) in the Third Final of its division. The Lyons finished 16th overall.
Rounding out the solid performances on the day was the third varsity eight boat, which finished seventh (8:14.982) in the Petite Final of its division. They had posed seventh in their opening heat (7:55.158) and finished 13th overall.
