WORCESTER, Mass. (Apr. 13, 2013) - The Mount Holyoke crew team had an outstanding effort on the water at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester on Saturday. The Lyons dominated the action in both races as the first varsity boat and the novice eight boat all claimed victory.
The top varsity eight boat posted a time of 7:06.8 to pull off a strong win over Clarks's 1V boat, which came in with a time of 7:25.2. Mount Holyoke's second varsity boat was close behind, finishing with a mark of 7:27.9.
Posting yet another outstanding finish for the second straight weekend was the novice eight boat, which made it three in a row with a huge victory over the Cougars. The group rowed to a time of 7:56.6, nearly one minute faster than Clark's boat which posted a time of 8:35.4.
Mount Holyoke is back on the water at Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday when it takes on Clark, Simmons, Union and Franklin & Marshall.
