Under the direction of 20th year head coach Jeanne Friedman, the Mount Holyoke crew team posted outstanding results in 2010-11. Leading the way were seniors Cleo Schneider and Robyn Kranzler, who were each named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Team.

Crew The Lyons took part in four competitions during the fall. After kicking things off with a sixth place finish at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta, Mount Holyoke's first varsity boat split into two squads to compete in the open four race at the New Hampshire Championships Regatta. Of the 17 teams taking part in the competition, the Lyons finished second and third. Their top unit secured first place among collegiate entrants. Less than a week later, the members of the varsity eight boat reunited to grab 13th place at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Mount Holyoke hosted the 24th annual Seven Sisters Championship Regatta in late October, taking fourth place overall. The Lyons were paced by their first varsity boat, which secured second place in its race. Schneider represented Mount Holyoke on the All-Regatta Team.

Cleo Schneider The team took part in six more events during the spring. Five of their competitions took place on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Mount Holyoke amassed 18 points to secure fourth place in the Florence Jope Smith Cup Point standings at the NEWMAC Championships. First year Kirsten Therrien joined Schneider and Kranzler as All-Conference selections. She was placed on the Novice Team.

The Lyons then competed in the New England Rowing Championships and the ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta to round out their 2010-11 campaign. Their varsity eight boat secured sixth place in the Petite Final of its class at the New England Rowing Championships. It was the 12th best squad overall and ranked ninth among Division III competitors. As a team, the Lyons finished in 14th place overall.

One week later, Mount Holyoke wrapped things up with an 11th place showing at the ECAC Championships. Schneider was named to the ECAC All-Conference Team for the second year in a row as a result of her performance at the event.
