Team Highlights

With 24th year head coach Christina Lee at the helm, the Mount Holyoke indoor track and field team took part in eight events during the 2009-10 season.

Miriam Larson-Koester

Leading the way for the Lyons were sophomore Miriam Larson-Koester, junior Jacinta Edebeli and first year Maddie Ballon, who each qualified for the New England Division III Championships.

Larson-Koester and Edebeli competed in two events apiece.

After posting a 12th place finish in the shot put with her toss of 10.98 meters, Larson-Koester took 20th place in the weight throw with a distance of 11.39 meters. She also qualified in the pentathlon but did not compete.

Edebeli grabbed 10th place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.64. She also took part in the 200-meter dash, recording a 21st place time of 28.05.

Meanwhile, Ballon matched her school record in the pole vault with a height of 2.75 meters. She finished the day in 20th place.

Larson-Koester went on to represent Mount Holyoke at the ECAC Championships. The sophomore secured 17th place in the shot put with a toss of 10.47 meters. She qualified for the competition with her school record throw of 11.97 meters at Smith College's Tartan Invitational.
