The Mount Holyoke outdoor track and field team competed in nine events under the direction of 24th year head coach Christina Lee in 2010.

Miriam Larson-Koester

Miriam Larson-Koester paced the Lyons with her outstanding results in the discus. For a four week span, she established new school records in the event. After shattering Amanda Salb's longstanding record of 39.27 meters at the NEWMAC Championships, the sophomore bested her own mark the following weekend at the New England Division III Championships. She set the bar even higher at the New England Championships before provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships with her toss of 41.78 meters at the ECAC Championships.

Larson-Koester picked up numerous awards along the way. In addition to earning NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors, she collected All-Region, All-New England and All-ECAC accolades.

Each of her performances added points to Mount Holyoke's team totals. The Lyons finished sixth at the NEWMAC Championships, 23rd at the New England Division III Championships, 35th at the New England Championships and 33rd at the ECAC Championships.

In addition to Larson-Koester (discus, shot put), junior Bree Hollinger (200-meter dash), senior Kat Newman (400-meter dash), first year Maddie Ballon (pole vault), sophomore Alicia Forrest (shot put) and junior Jacinta Edebeli (100-meter dash) also qualified for the New England Division III Championships. Ballon's height of 2.80 meters at the event was good for a school record.
