The Mount Holyoke squash team picked up its fourth victory in a row after defeating Connecticut College, 5-4 on Friday night. The Lyons improve to 7-16, while the Camels drop to 6-15.
The match opened up with Nadindhi Udangawa (Colombo, Sri Lanka/Colomba International School), who picked up an 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 victory over Davis Lemay (Harwich Port, Mass./Westover School) from the third flight. From the sixth flight, Emily Chang (Carmichael, Calif./Mira Loma) recorded a 11-7, 11-3, 12-10 win over Margaret Davey (Groton, Mass./Lawrence), while Ragini Ghose (Dubai/Millfield School) picked up the third point with an 11-7, 11-4, 11-7 at the two over Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y./Kent School).
Caroline Lippincott (Jamestown, R.I./Lincoln School) bounced back with a win in five long games (11-6, 13-15, 11-7, 11-13, 11-7) over senior Amanda Lee (Windsor, Conn./Ethel Walker School) at the nine to make the score 3-1. Lessly Portillo (New Haven, Conn./Ethel Walker School) got the fourth point over Anne Holly (York, Pa./Roland Park Country School) with an 11-3, 11-4, 12-10 victory to give MHC a 4-1 advantage.
Rose Minichiello (Collinsville, Conn./Canton) dropped a game to Jackie Chu (New York, N.Y./The Dwight School) at the eight, but senior captain Allison Shilling (New Canaan, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) pulled out a win in the deciding game in an 11-13, 11-9, 12-10, 11-7 victory over Margaret Davey (Groton, Mass./Lawrence Academy) at the four spot.
Conn College was able to pick up a victory at the top of the ladder, but fell short, giving MHC the 5-4 win.
Mount Holyoke will compete at the CSA National Championships on Friday at Princeton University.
