SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Jordyn Ferrantino scored back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart in the first half as Babson College overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Mount Holyoke College soccer team 2-1 in a NEWMAC match Saturday at MHC Soccer Field.

Babson (6-3-2, 4-0-1 NEWMAC) remained unbeaten in NEWMAC play with a sizable advantage over Mount Holyoke (2-5-2, 0-5 NEWMAC) in shots (26-12), shots on goal (12-5), and corner kicks (9-0).

The Lyons took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute of the game with a well executed play, with junior Hannah Keochakian (Amherst, Mass.) serving the ball to sophomore Charlotte Moynihan (North Attleboro, Mass.) for a header past Babson goalie Callahan Cottone. Moynihan has scored in three consecutive games for the Lyons, all against conference opponents.

Mount Holyoke held its lead until the 31st minute. A cross from Morgan Krauss passed three players along the goal line before Ferrantino ran up on the ball near the left post and buried her sixth goal of the season.

Ferrantino gave Babson the lead for good in the 32nd minute on a similar goal to her first. The play again started with a cross from Krauss, which was deflected by two Mount Holyoke defenders, but found its way out to Ferrantino again for the finish.

Govea made 10 saves for Mount Holyoke, while Cottone made four saves for Babson.

Mount Holyoke will host Springfield in its next game, Wednesday at 6pm.
