WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Seniors Paige Sangston and Cindy Zeng scored second-half goals less than two minutes apart, and Wellesley College went on to a 2-1 win over the Mount Holyoke College soccer team in a NEWMAC game on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lyons (2-5-2, 0-4-0 NEWMAC) cut the deficit in half at the 59:13 mark when sophomore Charlotte Moynihan (North Attleborough, Mass.) connected on a kick from outside the box that curled into the lower right corner of the goal. The goal was Moynihan's second in as many games.

After a scoreless first half, Sangston put the Blue (3-3-2, 2-1-1 NEWMAC) on the board at the 55:47 mark with a shot from the right side of the box that tucked into the bottom left corner.

At the 57:36 mark, Zeng scored with a left-footed shot from the top of the box into the lower right part of the goal.

Wellesley outshot Mount Holyoke 23-9 and the Blue took four corner kicks while holding the Lyons to one. Riley McNair stopped four shots for Wellesley and sophomore Clarissa Govea (Pico Rivera, Calif.) earned five saves for Mount Holyoke.

The Lyons will host Babson on Saturday at 1pm.
