Sixth-year head coach Kanae Haneishi helped guide the Mount Holyoke soccer team to an overall record of 3-12-2 in 2012. The Lyons were 2-7-0 in NEWMAC play, which included solid victories over Coast Guard and Babson.

Sophomore Hannah Yee, who led the team in scoring during her rookie campaign, continued to pace the Lyons in her second year. She tallied team-best marks in every category, including goals (9), assists (3), points (21), shots (34), shots on goal (28) and game-winning goals (2). For her efforts, she was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive season and was also a NEWISA All-New England Second Team honoree.

Mount Holyoke opened its 2012 season with a 1-1 tie against Nichols College. The Lyons battled through several tough losses over, but rebounded with back-to-back victories against Coast Guard (2-0) and Bay Path (9-0). Yee paced the way in both contests, scoring both goals against the Bears, while adding four against the Wildcats.

The Lyons posted a strong 1-1 draw against Connecticut College in early October and despite four losses down the stretch, MHC claimed victory in its final game of the season. Led by seniors Mallory Phaneuf and Kiana Lussier, the Lyons upset Babson by a 2-0 margin to end the season on a high note.

In addition to the year-end accolades for Yee, the Lyons were also strong academically as four student-athletes were named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, including junior Meredith Phelps and sophomores Emily Quinlan, Mackenzie Randall and Yee.
