THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke welcomes NEWMAC-rival Coast Guard Academy to South Hadley on Saturday as the two teams square off for the 13th time in the series. The Lyons currently hold the edge in the all-time series, going 7-5-0 against the Bears. MHC has claimed victory in each of the last six meetings, including a 3-2 double-overtime thriller last season that saw current Lyon' Hannah Yee tally a pair of header goals.

MHC Logo THE MOUNT HOLYOKE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (0-5-1, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) returns to the field following a 4-1 loss to Western New England on Tuesday amidst high winds and consistent rain. The visiting Golden Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening half, but a penalty kick opportunity for the Lyons cut the lead to 3-1 after sophomore Hannah Yee sneaked it past the reach of the diving WNE goalie. The visitors would add another tally midway through the second half to cement the victory for Western New England. Sophomore Mackenzie Randall made three saves.

Opponent Logo THE COAST GUARD BEARS: Coast Guard (1-4-0, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) opened it conference schedule with a 2-1 loss to Wellesley last Saturday. The Blue got the scoring going early when Gayron Berman lofted a shot into the upper right corner to give Wellesley a 1-0 lead in the tenth minute. Just four minutes later it was senior Kara Lungmus who tallied to make it a 2-0 advantage for the visitors. Coast Guard cut the score in half in the 71st minute when first year Madison Ahlers took a pass from junior Jill Kelly and slipped a shot by Wellesley keeper, Claire Cerda. The Bears had the chance to tie it up in the 86th minute but a diving save by Cerda sealed the win.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke travels to Bay Path College on Tuesday for a 4pm contest, while Coast Guard hosts Connecticut College on Wednesday at 7pm.
