Under the direction of 25th year head coach Christina Lee at the helm, the Mount Holyoke indoor track and field team competed in five events during the 2010-11 season.

Maddie Ballon Leading the way for the Lyons were senior Jacinta Edebeli and sophomore Maddie Ballon, who each qualified for the New England Division III Championships.

Edebeli earned All-Region honors with her eighth place toss of 11.75 meters in the shot put. With her performance in the event, she earned one point for Mount Holyoke, which claimed 22nd place overall. Edebeli secured 16th place with a personal best time of 27.35 in the 200-meter dash. She also finished fifth in her preliminary heat of the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.63.


Meanwhile, Ballon competed in the pole vault but did not place. Earlier in the season, she matched her school record in the pole vault with her first place height of 2.75 meters at the Smith College Winter Classic.

Mount Holyoke secured sixth place at the University of Southern Maine Invitational and fourth place at the Smith Tartan Classic. In addition to Edebeli and Ballon, first year Bianca Routt (sprints), junior Gizelle Fletcher (sprints), first year Maeve Stier (high jump), senior Hannah DiCocco (distance), first year Andrea Trinkle (jumps), first year Fanny Fennimore (pole vault), sophomore Elizabeth MacLauchlan (distance), first year Kate Brackett (distance) and junior Felicia Cordeiro (distance) also recorded points in those meets.
