CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Led by a game-best 24 points and 13 rebounds from guard Sabrina Drammis, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) basketball team posted a 62-39 victory at home against Mount Holyoke College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Wednesday evening.

With the win, the Engineers improve to 10-12 and 6-7 in conference play. The visiting Lyons slip to 6-16 overall and 3-10 in the NEWMAC.

In addition to Drammis, who also posted an assist and a game-high five steals, the Engineers saw guard Osheiza Otori notch 11 points. She also chipped in with three boards, two steals and a block. Additionally, Alexxis Isaac came off the bench to notch nine points and five rebounds with a steal.

For the Lyons, forward Amber Legare recorded her 13th double-double of the season, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Kate Karraker added 10 points, while forward Nicole DeMarchena added nine points and a game-best 13 rebounds and three blocks.

With MIT holding a 34-17 lead after the opening half, the Lyons responded in the second stanza as quick buckets from DeMarchena and Legare closed the gap to 34-21. Despite the momentum, the Engineers stormed back with a 6-0 run.

A layup from Legare at 11:16 later closed the gap to 15 (45-30), but an 8-0 run, including three buckets from Maya Ramachandran, widened the margin to 54-30 in favor of MIT with 5:55 to go.

DeMarchena had four points down the final stretch, but MIT continued to power forward, holding the Lyons scoreless over the final 2:36 to secure the victory.

Both teams return to action on Saturday as MIT travels to Springfield (12pm), while Mount Holyoke heads to Wellesley (2pm).
