THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke entertains non-conference foe Simmons College this evening at the Tennis Courts. In 13 previous meetings between the programs, the Lyons own a 10-3 advantage. They picked up their second straight victory over the Sharks last fall, winning by a score of 5-4. THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (1-3, 1-2 NEWMAC) rolled to a 7-2 victory over longtime rival Smith College in its most recent outing on Tuesday. It was the Lyons first triumph of the 2010-11 campaign and their second straight over Smith. For the second match in a row, Maya Sayarath prevailed at both singles and doubles. After teaming up with Elise Marifian for an 8-2 victory at number three doubles, she sprinted to a 6-0, 6-2 win at number six singles. Marifian also came out on top in her singles contest, winning by a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Natalie Hsiang and Sarah Moore picked up an 8-2 win in their number one doubles contest, while AnnElizabeth Konkel and Kelsey Brower prevailed 9-8 (7-3) in their number two tilt. Nahrhee Han and Heather Richardson added points on the singles side.

THE SHARKS: Simmons (5-3, 4-0 GNAC) has rolled to four straight victories after dropping three of its first four matches of the year. The Sharks have defeated Clark University (7-2), Emmanuel College (6-0), Mount Ida College (9-0), Albertus Magnus College (9-0) and Suffolk University (8-1) thus far this fall.   

NEXT UP: Both squads are slated to resume their league schedules on Saturday. Mount Holyoke will visits MIT at 1:00 p.m., while Simmons will travel to St. Joseph College at noon.
