SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke College Director of Athletics Andrea Ricketts-Preston today announced the promotion of two staff members and alums, Rachael Fulop '19 and Ali Ingellis '07, as the new associate directors of the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Center.
"Through the process of trying to identify the next leader of the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Center, it became clear that we had an opportunity to redefine our leadership structure in order to accomplish the ambitious goals we have for our Equestrian programs, while also highlighting the expertise and dedication of our exceptional staff," said Ricketts-Preston. "I'm thrilled to announce that Ali Ingellis has been promoted to Associate Director of the Equestrian Center for External Operations, and Rachael Fulop has been promoted to Associate Director of the Equestrian Center for Internal Operations."
Fulop, the stable manager at the facility, assumed duties as Associate Director for Internal Operations on Monday, while Ingellis, head dressage coach at Mount Holyoke, assumed the role of Associate Director for External Operations. Paula Pierce '94 retired as the facility director in June.
"Ali will focus on building relationships with external stakeholders and positioning the center as a leader in the industry, while also strengthening engagement with students and the on-campus community, and collaborating with me on fundraising and capital projects for the center," said Ricketts-Preston. "Rachael will oversee our internal programs and stable operations, including the health and welfare of our horse herd. I couldn't be more excited to work with Ali and Rachael as we shape the future of the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Center."
The MHC Equestrian Center is a best-in-class facility providing physical education riding classes to Mount Holyoke students, providing boarding services to MHC students and outside equestrians, home to four diferent interscholastic and intercollegiate riding teams, and hosts numerous intercollegiate and public events throughout the year.
"I am honored to step into the role of Associate Director of External Operations at the Equestrian Center," said Ingellis. "I look forward to expanding our program and building meaningful connections with students and the broader campus community."
As associate director for internal operations, Fulop will oversee the college's horse herd and the physical portion of the college's boarder program as well as all stable staff and the school horse program. She will make all decisions on matters pertaining to the health and welfare of horses, including but not limited to feed, bedding, medical treatment, and communication with veterinarians and vendors.
"I'm excited to step into a new position as the Associate Director of the Equestrian Center," said Fulop. "As a Mount Holyoke College alumna, my student experience with the equestrian community was integral to my learning and development, and I am honored to be able to instill that same spirit in others. I look forward to guiding the Equestrian Center for many years to come, and furthering Mount Holyoke's mission of providing a vibrant learning community for all of its students."
