The Mount Holyoke cross country program entered into a new era in 2011, as Jennifer Adams took over as head coach after an outstanding career as a distance runner at Keene State College. Over the course of the fall, the Lyons competed seven times. They were paced by senior Felicia Cordeiro, who was their top finisher on five occasions.

Felicia Cordeiro Mount Holyoke kicked off its season with a sixth place showing at the Smith College Invitational. A total of nine Lyons placed in the top 60 overall. Sophomore Lucia Garcia set the tone with a 23rd place finish (21:36.30).

One week later, Mount Holyoke travelled to Bowdoin College to take part in the Maine Invitational. Junior Phoebe Tengdin secured 33rd place (23:53.24) to lead the way. She was closely followed by Cordeiro, who finished 37th (24:00.42) in her collegiate debut.

From there, Cordeiro emerged as the team's top runner for the remainder of the season. Her top performance came the following week at the Wesleyan University Invitational. Competing for just the second time, the senior crossed the line in 19:59.60 to secure sixth place overall. In the process, she became the fourth Lyon in the past five seasons to post a top 10 finish. As a team, Mount Holyoke collected fourth place overall.

After taking 36th place at the New England Championship, the Lyons added a seventh place result at the Seven Sisters Championship.

Due in large part to Cordeiro's 41st place performance (20:48), Mount Holyoke claimed seventh place at the NEWMAC Championship. First year Emily Baker turned in the 46th best time (20:58) at the event.

The Lyons closed out their season with a 27th place performance at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship. Cordeiro wrapped up her career with a time of 23:56.90. She finished 102nd overall.
