Cross Country Huddle

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Feb. 21, 2012) – The Mount Holyoke College cross country team was recently honored for its outstanding work in the classroom. The Lyons were among the 187 teams from around the nation to earn United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTCCCA) Division III All-Academic status.

Mount Holyoke's grade point average of 3.69 was the fourth highest in the nation. The top five also included William Smith College (3.77), Misericordia University (3.76), Washington University (3.70) and Concordia College (3.68).  To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the team must have had a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 through the 2011 fall semester.

With first year head coach Jennifer Adams leading the way, the Lyons rounded out their season with a 27th place showing at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship in October. Two weeks earlier, they took home seventh place at the NEWMAC Championship.
