  • 2011-12 Cross Country Year in Review

    The Mount Holyoke cross country program entered into a new era in 2011, as Jennifer Adams took over as head coach after an outstanding career as a distance runner at Keene State. Over the course of the fall, the Lyons competed seven times. They were paced by senior Felicia Cordeiro, who was their top finisher on five occasions.
  • Cross Country Team Garners USTFCCCA National Academic Honors

    The Mount Holyoke cross country team was recently honored for its outstanding work in the classroom. The Lyons were among the 187 teams to earn USTCCCA Division III All-Academic status. Their team GPA of 3.69 was the fourth highest in the nation.
  • Cross Country Rounds Out 2011 Campaign at NCAA Regional Championship

    Mount Holyoke rounded outs its 2011 campaign with a 27th place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship today. A total of 353 runners from 51 teams competed in the event, which took place at Bowdoin. Senior Felicia Cordeiro and first year Emily Baker paced the Lyons.
  • NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Squads

    The NEWMAC recently announced its 2011 Fall Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-three Mount Holyoke student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball.
  • Cross Country Takes Seventh Place at NEWMAC Championship

    Mount Holyoke took seventh place at the NEWMAC Championship today at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Leading the way for the Lyons was senior Felicia Cordeiro, who took home 41st place with a time of 20:48.
  • Weather Forces Postponement of NEWMAC Cross Country Championship

    Due to course conditions and the potential for severe weather in the Boston area Saturday night and Sunday, the NEWMAC Cross Country Championship has been postponed until Monday, October 31. The meet will still take place at Franklin Park and will begin at 4:00 p.m.
  • Cordeiro Paces Cross Country at Seven Sisters Championship

    Mount Holyoke took part in the 30th annual Seven Sisters Championship today at Haverford. Senior Felicia Cordeiro grabbed 22nd place with a time of 20:26.55 to set the tone for the Lyons. Mount Holyoke also received a solid performance from junior Phoebe Tengdin.
  • Cross Country Takes Part in New England Championship

    Mount Holyoke posted a 36th place finish at the 2011 New England Cross Country Championship today in Boston, Massachusetts. A total of 269 runners from 39 teams competed in the event, which took place at Franklin Park. Senior Felicia Cordeiro secured 180th place with a time of 20:40.

    Senior cross country team member Felicia Cordeiro has earned the Lyon of the Week Award for the week of September 19-25 after her outstanding performance at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday. Competing for just the second time in her career, Cordeiro crossed the line in 19:59.60 to secure sixth place overall.

    Led by Felicia Cordeiro, Mount Holyoke secured fourth place at the Wesleyan Invitational today . The senior took home sixth place overall with her time of 19:59.60.

    Mount Holyoke competed in the Maine Invitational this afternoon at Bowdoin. Junior Phoebe Tengdin paced the Lyons with a 33rd place finish. She crossed the line in 23:53.24.

    With sophomore Lucia Garcia leading the way, the Mount Holyoke cross country team grabbed sixth place at the Smith Invitational this morning. It was the Lyons’ first appearance of the 2011 season.

Her Lyons are scheduled to compete in seven meets this fall. They will get things going at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday, September 10.
