BABSON PARK, Mass. (Nov. 5, 2010) – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently unveiled its award winners for the 2010 season. For the fourth time in five years, Mount Holyoke College claimed the league's Sportsmanship Award. The Lyons also took home the honor in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
MIT's Halston Taylor was voted as the NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to their fourth straight Conference Championship on Saturday. Wellesley College's Randelle Boots completed the 5,000-meter course in 18:25.35 to capture NEWMAC Runner of the Year honors. Meanwhile, MIT's Martina de Geus crossed the line in 19:03.75 to secure the NWMAC Rookie of the Year award. She finished seventh overall.
