BRUNSWICK, Maine (Apr. 19, 2013) - The Mount Holyoke College track & field team opened action at the 2013 Aloha Relays on Friday at Bowdoin College. Sophomore Amber Legare kicked off the action for the Lyons, competing in the Heptathlon. She is currently third overall in the event, which features five individual competitors.
Legare (Chicopee, Mass./Chicopee Comprehensive) finished first in the shot put portion of the six-event competition, posting a throw of 9.80 meters. She was also third in the 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 18.78 and placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.33 meters.
She will conclude the event tomorrow, participating in the long jump, the javelin throw and the 800-meter run.
Action continues with a full slate of events on Saturday, including the conclusion of the Heptathlon.
