Basketball team's Cordes, Lutalo and Rha receive CSC Academic All-District honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College basketball team saw three of its players receive NCAA Division III Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, as announced on Tuesday, with senior Isabel Cordes, senior Nicole Lutalo and junior Katie Rha all earning the award for the second straight season.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Basketball student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the team games/contests.

All three Lyons awarded carry double majors. Cordes (Yorktown, Va.) majors in biology and geology, and also is a member of the Mount Holyoke lacrosse team. Lutalo (Kampala, Uganda) majors in economics and politics. Rha (Douglaston, N.Y.) double-majors in both biology and psychology and education.
