CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The MIT women's basketball team extended its winning streak to five after it defeated Mount Holyoke College 94-23 in NEWMAC action on Saturday at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

With 14 points, graduate student Christina Antonakakis broke the Engineers' program career points record as her total increased to 1,426 and eclipsed the previous mark of 1,425. For the Lyons, sophomore guard Libby Harris (Foxborough, Mass.) led the way with 12 points.

Harris opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, but MIT replied with a three from Angie Choi, which ignited a string of 25 unanswered points in the quarter for the host team.

In the second stanza, the Engineers outscored the Lyons 18-8 to build a 43-11 advantage at halftime. Elise Harvey notched four points for MIT while Kamsi Nwogu grabbed four rebounds and Choi recorded two steals. For Mount Holyoke, both sophomore Kendall Maurer (Orinda, Calif.) and senior Nicole Lutalo (Kampala, Uganda) knocked down 3-pointers, while first-year Emma Goff (Cohasset, Mass.) snagged three rebounds. The three was the first of Lutalo's career, and only her second career attempt behind the arc.

The Engineers' lead grew to 71-19 at the end of the third quarter. Choi produced nine points as Nwogu tallied five rebounds, one block, and one steal. Harris powered Mount Holyoke with a pair of threes in the period.

MIT continued to control the action as it had a 23-4 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter. Goff knocked down a 3-pointer for Mount Holyoke on her first career attempt from deep.

Goff collected a team-high six rebounds, followed by five apiece from first-year Jamieson Dean (Clinton Township, Mich.) and Maurer.

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Springfield College for a 7pm NEWMAC game.
